Join us for six action-packed days of fun, sport and festive excitement at our Christmas Sporty Holiday Clubs! Each day focuses on one of our special values - bravery, teamwork, perseverance, leadership, kindness, and FUN - helping children build confidence, skills, and friendships through a variety of exciting sports and festive activities! Day 1: Bravery Skill Learning Goal: To refine rolling and sequence building. To create a contrasting group sequence using formations and apparatus. Values Learning Goal: I can try a new activity. I can show that I am confident and willing to take on new challenges. I help others be brave. Children can develop these learning progressions during sports like: Dance and Gymnastics. Day 2: Teamwork Skill Learning Goal: To cooperate and communicate in a small group to solve challenges. To move into and create space to support a teammate. Values Learning Goal: I can work sensibly with others by taking turns and sharing. I can listen and support others with ideas. I can praise and involve everyone in my team. Children can develop these learning progressions during sports like: Basketball and Football. Day 3: Perseverance Skill Learning Goal: To remember and repeat actions individually or in a group. To use feedback to develop and refine your performance. Values Learning Goal: I can keep trying when a challenge gets tricky. I like to use a growth mindset to develop a range of skills. I use higher-order thinking to come up with new strategies. Children can develop these learning progressions during sports like: Archery and Tag Rugby. Day 4: Leadership Skill Learning Goal: To understand what being in possession means and support your teammates to do this. To apply and discuss rules, skills and principles to play as a team. Values Learning Goal: I can be a role model to other children. I show others what good behaviour looks like by always listening and following instructions. I help others play games and clear away equipment. Children can develop these learning progressions during sports like: Dodgeball, kurling/ boccia and any team-related sports where a captain is allocated. Day 5: Kindness Skill Learning Goal: To create a plan involving everyone in a group to solve challenges. To encourage and develop my own and other players' skill techniques in my team. Values Learning Goal: I can share and help others around me. I have empathy and understand other people’s feelings. I will include everyone in activities. Children can develop these learning progressions during sports like: Athletics and orienteering. Day 6: FUN To get involved in every activity, celebrating wins with others, and making sure everyone involved is having FUN. To celebrate the skills that have been achieved across a variety of sports. Children can develop these learning progressions during all sports. Alongside our value-focused sporting activities, children will enjoy special festive extras... Including an Elf visit and Christmas-themed games and activities to make the camps even more magical! Camp notes
THIS CLUB IS OPEN TO ALL CHILDREN IN LOCAL SCHOOLS.
Once booked, no refunds are available (except in exceptional circumstances)
Pick up & drop off is at the sports hall (9am – 3pm)
We operate a strict NO NUTS policy
Children will need:
- A packed lunch and a water bottle
- To be wearing appropriate clothing for indoor and outdoor sporting activities
- To bring indoor footwear and outdoor footwear (we recommend sports trainers)
- For our Fun Football camps, football boots & shin pads will be required
- If it’s raining, please ensure they are equipped with a rain jacket and spare clothes in case they get wet during any activities outside
- Please ensure you bring a sun hat and sun cream for hot days.
If your child has medication, it is your responsibility to provide the equipment needed, for example, an inhaler. If your child needs medicine, it will need to be administered before the club or brought during lunchtime and administered by a parent/Carer.
If your child has SEN requirements or needs behaviour management support, please let us know so we can try to cater for this.
Children are not allowed mobile phones, and please ensure they are not wearing any jewellery.
